- Open to International region
- Participation on company basis
- Entries are not confined to the theme
- Entries must have been manufactured and launched commercially in the market
- Participation fee of US$100 (Overseas participants) or S$170 (Singapore Participants) is applicable. (15% discount is applicable to SFIC members only)
- Entries that infringes on intellectual or industrial property rights (trademarks, patents or similar rights) will be disqualified. The partcipant shall be liable for claims by third parties. SFIC shall not be held responsible for any infringement.

- A description of maximum 300 words detailing the concepts, innovations, design aspects, the primary function, material used and any additional features of the products should be included.
- A CD-ROM containing the complete presentation of the entries submission, which includes illustrations (PC- Compatible format) and the description (Microsoft Word), as well as high resolution files of all the images or sketches which are suitable for reproduction.
- Each participant is allowed maximum submission of 3 entries
- Each Entry is allowed maximum submission of 3 product photos

- Interpretation of theme (applicable to Students & Young Designers categories only)
- Creativity
- Marketability
- Functionality (which includes environmental friendliness, ergonomics & function)
Fifteen entries each from the Students and Young Designers category will be shortlisted in the first round of judging by representatives from the furniture industry and interior design industry. The participants will be required to represent their conceptsto the judging panel in the second round of judging whereby six entries from each category will be shortlisted to produce prototypes to be displayed for Final Judging at the Singapore Expo during the International Furniture Fair Singapore 2006/23 rd ASEAN Furniture Show.
Six entries from the Open Category will be shortlisted by representatives from the furniture industry and interior design industry to be displayed for Final Judging at the Singapore Expo during the International Furniture Fair Singapore 2006/23rd ASEAN Furniture Show.

Merit Awards
S$500 + Certificate
(S$500 cash is applicable to Students & Young Designers Categories only)
The number of awards may be adjusted in accordance with the overall quality level of the design entries received

[家具设计的规则 & 2006规则颁发]
- Entry design & concept found to the same or similar to works already published, infringes on copyright, industrial property rights or other rights of other entries will result in disqualification from judging.
- The judges' decision is final. No correspondence of any form will be entertained
- SFIC reserves the right to publicize any entry – in part or whole whether it is a winning entry or not. However, the copyright of the entries will remain the property of the participants. Sale of the copyright to a manufacturer is a private negotiation between buyer and seller.
- All prototypes will remain the properties of the sponsors
- The finalist's entries will be displayed at the discretion of SFIC
- While taking every reasonable precaution, SFIC accepts no responsibility for any loss or damages to the entries
- All participants are responsible for their own transportation and their prototypes or products to and from the judging venue

[关于此次家具比赛]
Design is a very important element in the manufacturing value chain. To nurture design talents, SFIC organize the annual Furniture Design Award (FDA) in conjunction with the International Furniture Fair Singapore/ASEAN Furniture Show at the Singapore Expo.
This provides a high profile avenue for our designers to express their creativity and gain recognition in the industry. It also encourages designers to network with local and overseas industry players, creating not only launch pads for their career in the furniture industry but also maintaining the dynamism and vibrancy of the regional furniture design trade.
